The Joann B. Ficke Cancer Foundation is a Colorado nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, is to raise funds and create awareness for the treatment, research and cure of cancer. By engaging the community and those touched by cancer, financial support is given to the development of cancer treatments, programs, services, as well as the procurement of advanced medical technologies. Founded in 2009 by JoAnn’s beloved husband “Big Bill” and her beloved son Dan, the Foundation honors JoAnn’s beautiful and giving nature and continues to share her amazing light with the world by fighting the terrible disease that cut her life tragically short. Lonewolf Communications teamed with Hagar Communications on the logistics, sales and communications for "A Tribute To Doug Moe," which was a major fundraising event for the Foundation in January of 2010 that raised more than $100,000. The National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) is comprised of over 200 basketball teams across 22 conferences and seven divisions. The NWBA was founded in 1948, and today consists of men's, women's intercollegiate, and youth teams throughout the United States and Canada. In April, Denver will serve as the host for the 2010 NWBA National Championships for the second year in a row, with the majority of games taking place at the Gold Crown Field House in Lakewood and Metro State College of Denver. Lonewolf Communications will provide the NWBA with media relations services, sponsorship fulfillment and event logistics for this amazing event that attracts more than 1,000 of the best wheelchair basketball players in North America. Lonewolf Communications worked for Cherry Creek North to publicize it's "Celebrity Santa" program where Chris "Birdman" Andersen of the Denver Nuggets and Darrell Reid of the Denver Broncos dressed up like Santa to raise money for their favorite charities.
